Project: Master Bedroom.... In progress
Today we got some new bed covers & a new lampshade to start work in this room. I would have preferred a proper lampshade, but with the light fitting in this room the only type of lampshades that fit are the paper type, still I think it's looking more grown up already.
Project: Spare Room.... In progress
This is our spare room, as with all the rooms in our house, it started out as a plain magnolia room with no curtains and no lampshade.
The curtains we currently have up are some we bought cheap & not our favourite purchase. The theme I wanted to achieve in this room is a nautical theme. Originally I planned to paint one wall with dark blue stripes, but decided against it as if we move, any walls that we have painted have to be reverted back to magnolia.

I haven't called this project complete yet, as there are a few more finishing touches needed such as a rug, a better bedside table, a lamp & some nicer curtains.
Here are some pictures:
Project: Nursery - Complete
I don't have any photos of this room in it's original appearance, but basically it was just a plain magnolia square box.
This was my original inspiration, but we also wanted a jungle theme so we went for a mixture of both in the end:
Project: Cupboard Space
This house has 3 inbuilt cupboards which could be useful if utilised, but at the minute they are mostly just used to store junk.
The first cupboard is the downstairs cupboard under the stairs:
Excuse the nosey dog, as you can see this is filled with random items at the moment.
My idea for this cupboard is to use it mainly for storing cleaning equipment, perhaps adding some shelving.
Hopefully we could also make room to store our pram in here once the baby comes.
So a cross between these ideas:
At the moment the space is not very well utilised with a lot of mismatched baskets and some stuff just thrown in the bottom.
For this cupboard I am thinking of getting lots of matching boxes to store all our keepsakes (at the top) and underwear, belts, scarves, etc (at the bottom).
I'd like to do something like this, but not quite as pretty:
The last cupboard is in our master bedroom. I am hoping to use this one for storing the laundry items such as ironing board & laundry basket. This is how it looks at the moment:
Bedroom accent colours
Hmm I can't decide on the colour for a bed runner/bedspread, pillows & blinds:

Project: Master Bedroom inspiration
I am fed up of our master bedroom looking like a 13 year old girls bedroom:
A lot of work is going to be needed on this room & it could be more expensive than the changes we have made to the rooms we have tackled so far.
The look that I want to go for in this room, is hotel chic with clean white bedding. Here are some inspiration photos.
This one incorporates some green, so we could possibly work with some of the accessories we already have:
This is another example of incorporating the green, but I am not 100% on this, I love the white curtains, but this would mean we would need blinds as well to keep the light out & I'm not sure if white is a bit too clinical for a bedroom:
This is a bed set from Argos, which I am
in love with but it's pretty pricey, originally I was just looking at
the curtains but I love the bedding too. Since we have two windows in
this room we will need two sets of matching curtains and finding some
cheap enough in the style I want is going to be a challenge in itself:

This is one of my favourites, I love the black & white prints, the headboard, the throw & the futon at the end of the bed:

Some more neutral looks:
We are going to have our work cut out on this one. There are several areas within the room which I have plans for.
I would like to turn the built in storage cupboard into somewhere to keep the laundry equipment ie. Ironing board & wash basket. Something along these lines, with some storage space to help me keep on top of my washing now we have a baby on the way, without having it all out in the open:
The other area that needs work is the dressing table. This is the desk of a girl I randomly came across on Instagram & I
love her dressing table, I need something like this for mine, in
particular the Perspex make-up draws, the candle holder pots for ear buds
etc & the proper dressing table mirror:
For the bed I would like a headboard, and some nice bedding.
In the rest of the room the main important changes to be made are the curtains/blinds, the lampshade & artwork.
I am unsure whether to work with the green rug & lamps or whether to update them too.

Project: Bathroom... In progress
In the upstairs bathroom we finally got round to putting up a new shower curtain pole as the last one looked like an nhs walking stick, so we have now used a chrome one with metal hooks which I think looks a lot more appealing.
We also got a new neutral shower curtain, bath mat & hand towels & an orchid for decoration.
I am really happy with the transformation so far.

To finish this off I am thinking is to paint the walls in a darker beige colour & adding some black and white framed prints like this:
Would love to know people's opinions as to whether they think this would work in our bathroom.
